Why choose CBD Drinks? While there are many different CBD products on the market, very few come in the convenient form of a 2oz liquid shot. Some people are overwhelmed by the thought of trying to get the correct serving size with tinctures, while others may simply not want to vape or use any of the wide variety of edibles currently available. There is no right or wrong way to use CBD, and these drinks are just another delivery method to add to your arsenal! Shot bottles are a lot easier to keep track of during the day, especially if you are on the go.

CBD Shots: Taking CBD Drinks to the Next Level
Our CBD drinks give you all the wellness-boosting benefits of CBD — derived from pure, organic hemp — in a delicious, thirst-quenching beverage. When you try our CBD Chill Shots or CBD Focus Shots, you’re getting 20 mg of broad spectrum CBD and a host of other natural ingredients. Plus, all of our CBD drinks taste great!
Another great thing about these CBD beverages, is that when you take your CBD as a drink, you can enjoy the effects of the CBD quicker than you can with other edibles (yes, drinks are technically edibles). And whether your goal is to chill out with a relaxing CBD vibe or pump up your energy and focus for a killer workout, you want to feel your CBD as quickly as possible!
But before we start talking about our line of beverages infused with organic CBD, let’s take a moment to explore and understand just what CBD is, and why the cannabinoid known as cannabidiol can be such a game-changing wellness product!
CBD Drinks 101: What Is CBD?
Every CBD drink begins with CBD. But what exactly is CBD, and why is CBD such a popular wellness product? CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of a group of chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant, called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are produced by glands on the surface of the cannabis plant, called trichomes, in order to protect it from weather elements, as well as insect predators. Cannabinoids, like CBD, also attract pollinators, which in turn help to perpetuate the cannabis plants.
CBD Drinks 101: The Endocannabinoid System
The human body, as it turns out, makes its own cannabinoids. In fact, all vertebrates have a cell-signalling system called the endocannabinoid system. These endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters that attach to receptors in the various systems of the body, most notably, the central and peripheral nervous systems. The endocannabinoids then send signals out to the body’s various systems and organs in order to help them maintain homeostasis, or balance. This helps the body to regulate such crucial functions as sleep, mood, memory, motor control, appetite, pain management, stress, and much more.
CBD Drinks 101: Hemp, CBD, and the Endocannabinoid System
Plant-based cannabinoids, or phytocannabinoids, actually have a very similar effect when introduced into the body. Cannabinoids, like CBD, send messages through the same receptors and help the body to maintain homeostasis in many of the same systems and organs, and to support these many crucial bodily functions. This is why CBD has become such a popular wellness product, and why products like CBD drinks have become a must-have for so many health-conscious consumers.
CBD Drinks 101: Cannabis, Hemp, and CBD
You’ll note that we mentioned that CBD is derived from the cannabis plant. But all cannabis plants aren’t the same. Certainly, one associates the word “cannabis” with marijuana, which is what we call cannabis in its high-THC form (THC being the cannabinoid that people consume to get high). But our CBD products (and all CBD products not sold in a dispensary) are derived from a form of cannabis called hemp. Hemp, by law, has less than 0.3% THC and is non-psychoactive. That means that hemp-derived products, like CBD drinks, cannot get you high.
What Is the Best Kind of CBD for a Drink?
CBD, as mentioned, is derived from the hemp plant, specifically the buds, leaves and stalks of the hemp plant. When the CBD oil is first extracted, it contains all of hemp’s valuable chemical compounds, including all of the cannabinoids (including CBD), terpenes, flavonoids and fatty acids of the plant. This type of CBD oil is called full spectrum CBD oil. The great thing about full spectrum CBD is that it gives the user a powerful Entourage Effect.
The term “Entourage Effect” refers to the phenomenon that occurs when multiple cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are consumed together. Instead of merely working in parallel with one another, CBD and its hemp buddies actually bolster one another — which means that your CBD is actually working harder for you than it would on its own!
While it’s not enough to be intoxicating, full spectrum CBD does contain trace amounts (less than 0.3%) of THC. For many — particularly those concerned with getting a false positive result on a drug test — this can be a deal-breaker. Fortunately, there is a form of CBD oil where the THC is filtered out and many of the cannabinoids (including CBD), terpenes and flavonoids remain. This CBD oil is called broad spectrum CBD. Broad spectrum CBD oil still has a profile robust enough to deliver a solid Entourage Effect. Because it delivers the Entourage Effect without detectable amounts of THC, broad spectrum CBD is probably the most commonly used and popular of all the types of CBD. And it’s broad spectrum CBD that we use in all of our CBD drinks.
Incidentally, there is a form of CBD from which all of the other hemp plant matter is removed, leaving only 99% pure CBD. This form of CBD is called CBD isolate, and it’s usually used in products like CBD bath bombs and some CBD vaping liquids.
But broad spectrum is really what most people in the CBD industry (and CBD users) consider to be the best CBD for CBD drinks.
How Quickly Can I Feel My CBD Drink’s Effects?
CBD drinks are technically CBD edibles, in the sense that they are orally consumed and then absorbed into the bloodstream through the digestive tract. For CBD edibles, like cookies, it can take 30 minutes to two hours for the effects to kick in. CBD in drink form generally comes in at the front end of that time range. That’s because CBD in a drink doesn’t really need to be broken down much by the body. It’s already a liquid. Also, some of the drink is absorbed through the capillaries of the mouth, which is much quicker than going through the digestive tract.
While every person’s body is different and we all can have much different bioavailability rates — based on our weight, height, body mass, metabolism and other factors — you can, in general, expect to feel the effects of CBD drinks (like our CBD Shots) in around 30 minutes.
CBD Shots: Healthy Drinks, Tastier Than Water or Kombucha!
Our CBD Shots combine all the wellness benefits of CBD with other effective ingredients, as well as all-natural flavors. When you drink one of these thirst-quenching beverages, you experience the Entourage Effect of broad spectrum CBD — which brings a wealth of benefits. And they taste a lot better than kombucha!
CBD Focus Shots: The Best CBD Drinks for Energy and Focus
For some, the term CBD energy drink might not make a lot of sense, as we generally associate CBD with its calming properties. But taken with the right secondary ingredients, CBD can actually calm the mind just enough to allow it to focus better. And drinks like our CBD Focus Shots do this without making the body sluggish.
Our CBD Focus Shots contain 20mg of mind-calming CBD, L-arginine for healthy blood flow, time-released caffeine for an extended energy boost, and vitamins B3, B6, B12, C and D for energy and overall good health. Taken together in a delicious drink, CBD and these other ingredients combine to make an incredibly effective energy drink, and a great natural alternative to the usual sugary energy drinks, which can be packed with artificial colors and flavors.
These power-packed energy beverages come in two delicious (and all-natural) flavors: Tropical and Pomegranate.
CBD Chill Shots: The Best CBD Drinks for Relaxation and Good Vibes
Our CBD Chill Shots are a much different beverage than our energy and focus drinks. These delectable drinks give you 20mg of calming, broad spectrum CBD, along with the amino acid, L-theanine, which is known for its relaxing properties. Restful vitamin B6, magnesium and zinc round out the active ingredients, making these tasty drinks a great beverage for kicking back and relaxing, or just settling your nerves on a stressful day.
These relaxation drinks come in two taste-tempting flavors: Lemonade and Berry. In fact, the taste is so delightful that some people even use them as mixers for CBD-infused cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. (We can vouch for the Lemonade Chill Shot in an infused margarita!) Just make sure to remember that this is a drink designed for relaxation, and you should not operate heavy machinery or drive after drinking it.
Why Are CBDfx Drinks the Best CBD Drinks?
At CBDfx, we use the finest organic hemp, grown in the fertile soil of Kentucky and manufactured right here in the U.S.A. We understand that hemp can soak all sorts of toxins out of the soil, and so we don’t use some of the harmful chemicals and pesticides that other CBD companies might use. We also extract the CBD from our hemp using clean CO2 extraction, which doesn’t leave potentially harmful solvent residues, as with the extraction methods of some other companies. But don’t just take our word for it. Every legitimate CBD brand — and that includes CBDfx — will have third-party lab reports on its site, so that you can verify the purity and potency of your CBD product. We encourage you to have a look at our lab reports, so that you can shop with confidence for the best CBD drinks anywhere!
